The 2011 Annual General Meeting (AGM) PDF Print E-mail

The 2011 Annual General Meeting (AGM) will be held in the evening of 10 August 2011 (Wednesday) in Singapore Polytechnic Graduates Guild House ballroom level 3.  Please click here to view the venue on map. 

The main events will be AGM reports, co-opting of a board member and a seminar talk delivered by our guest speaker Mr Jason Loh on social media. There will also be sumptuous food and we hope you will enjoy interacting with other PREMIA members as well.

 

The full program for that night is as follows:

Title of talk: Text Analytics for Social Media and Beyond
 
Synopsis: We will explore the potential of unstructured data, often being the largest data source, by data size in any public and private organization. Management and IT recognize the huge potential of leveraging unstructured data for almost all functions of the organization - as well as the challenges that come with it. This talk will discuss various objectives from commercial perspectives in CRM and marketing, to security issues of reducing fraud and protecting borders. The audience will hear how forward-looking leaders make significant investments in Text Analytics to derive organization-wide benefits, unmatched by expert systems/ methodology or traditional analysis techniques.

About the Speaker: 

• Jason Loh has more than 9 years of experience in the area of data mining & analytics solutions from leading vendors SAS and SPSS (IBM). He is currently working with SAS AP as a Product Manager for analytical products with a focus in text analytics, supporting banks/ governments/ telcos/ and other organizations across 14 countries in the Asia Pacific. 
• Jason’s specializes in solving a wide range of business challenges by employing the use of analytics - visioning, design, execution and management of a good number of successful projects for organizations in various industries working in both consulting & user environments, Jason is effectively translating enterprise or research data into actionable insights with to solve a range of objectives from CRM, reducing churn, targeting high propensity up sell/ cross-sell opportunities and sentiments analysis, to promoting voluntary policy compliance and detecting fraud.
• Jason graduated from Monash University, AU with a double degree – Bach. Business/ Commerce, Bach. Computing. During his work in SPSS/ SAS – he has provided numerous workshops, training, talks, etc every year to analysts and management audience across industries.
