(In the fields of Bio-signal Classification and Acoustic Signal Processing) PhD holders are invited to apply for positions at the Institute for Infocomm Research (I2R). These positions are for up to three years and may lead to a long-term position.

The Pervasive Signal Processing Department (http://psp.i2r.a-star.edu.sg/) provides signal and information processing technologies for proactive and personalized healthcare including physical and mental well-being of people. Our focus is to explore neural information processing technology for brain-machine interface and neural disease diagnosis applications; developing cardio-physiological signal analysis technology for mobile and continuous healthcare applications; and developing human body sensor fusion technology for elderly and patient monitoring applications. Sensor Signal Processing Lab: http://psp.i2r.a-star.edu.sg/ssp/ The Pervasive Signal Processing Department is part of the Media Division in the Institute for Infocomm Research. The successful applicant will either lead a team of researchers or be a member of the team to pursue research on signal processing, particularly the classification of bio-signals (EEG, ECG, etc) or acoustic signal processing and be responsible to work with the team to develop various research tools, prototype and algorithms as well as to generate quality research results and papers. You should have a strong background in mathematic, or biomedical engineering, or computer & electrical engineering and be proficient in C/C++ and Matlab. Good interpersonal skills with the ability to work independently and also in a team environment are a must. To be considered for the role as a team leader, you should possess a PhD degree in pattern recognition, machine learning and signal processing with 3 to 5 years’ relevant working and research project management experience and have good leadership skills.
